Dovecote Park visited by Selby MP

On Friday 9th November we were honoured to welcome Nigel Adams, MP for Selby and Ainsty, to our Stapleton site, where he visited our bespoke Apprentice line and spoke with a number of our butchery apprentices.

On Friday 9th November, Dovecote Park were honoured to welcome MP Nigel Adams to our Stapleton site

Mr. Adams has been the parliamentary representative for Selby and Ainsty since 2010, and currently holds the positions of Assistant Whip and Parliamentary Undersecretary for the Wales office. Over his lengthy government career, he has taken special interest in environment, rural affairs and the food industry.

Mr. Adams met with the Chief Executives and Managing Director of Dovecote Park, before being kitted up and taken into the Boning Hall to see our bespoke Apprenticeship line and to speak personally with a number of the current Boning Hall apprentices. He took great interest in the apprenticeship scheme and the background of many of the current apprentices in our employment. The visit was concluded with a brief photo shoot in the conference room.

We are extremely proud of our apprentice scheme, which has gone from strength to strength and been recognised by a number of independent bodies, including the Princess Royal program – as such we were glad to see it recognised by local government, and to allow our hardworking apprentices the rare opportunity to speak with a Member of Parliament.

We would like to thank Nigel Adams and his team for taking time out of their hectic schedules to visit our site, and extend our thanks to all the Dovecote Park Training staff and apprentices for their hard work in ensuring the visit went smoothly.
